Boil up some water on the stove and then pour it down the drain
Believe it or not, good old-fashioned hot water – boiling hot water – poured slowly down your drain just a little bit at a time is usually more than enough to clear up, break up, and dissolve whatever is causing the clogged shower drain in the first place. You’ll want to fill up a saucepan or a stockpot with plenty of hot water to get the job done and pour that water directly down the drain slow enough to work its way through without pooling up and cooling down. This should be enough to handle most of the simple issues you’re dealing with.
